Evan Shieh is an accomplished academic and design professional with extensive experience in architecture and urban design. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the New York Institute of Technology since August 2022, Evan also holds the position of Chair for the Marketing + Communications Committee within the School of Architecture & Design and coordinates the 5th-year B. Arch Thesis Studio. As the Director and Founding Principal at Emergent Studio, Evan has been involved in various design initiatives since August 2021. Previous roles include adjunct faculty positions at Parsons School of Design, The City College of New York, and the University of Virginia School of Architecture, as well as an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the University of Virginia from August 2021 to July 2022. Evan's background includes urban design research at the NYC Department of City Planning and a teaching fellowship at Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
