Brett Shafran

Brett Shafran has extensive experience in absence management and product development within the insurance industry, currently serving as the Absence Management Product Lead at New York Life Insurance Company since December 2018. Shafran previously held the position of Absence Management Product Director at MetLife, where significant contributions included product strategy for group disability and major cost reductions in vendor agreements. Prior to that, at Nationwide, Shafran advanced to Associate Vice President, where notable achievements included initiating a Health & Productivity Strategy, leading multiple acquisitions resulting in substantial revenue growth, and managing product integration for disability and absence management. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School, an MBA from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Science from Miami University.
