Akira Karasawa

Akira Karasawa is a Staff Scientist at the New York Structural Biology Center, with a background in research and technology development projects focusing on membrane proteins and crystallography. Prior to this role, Akira worked as a Research Associate at Cornell University, where they specialized in the expression and purification of P2X7 receptors. Akira also has experience as a postdoctoral researcher at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, focusing on ABC transporters in liposome systems. They hold a Ph.D. in Biological Science from Osaka University.
