Doug Binette

Doug Binette is the Acting Executive Director of the New York Technology Council. Doug has over 20 years of experience in marketing and communications, business development, and meeting services.

Doug began their career in marketing and communications with Messagemind, Inc., where they helped establish the company's initial brand identity and defined Messagemind's unique market value proposition. Doug was then tasked with assessing the global software market and competitive landscape, and translating market analysis, customer insights, and branding strategy into content, company and product communication vehicles, sales processes, channel development, and public relations strategy and execution. Doug was also responsible for developing successful investor presentations and identifying funding, leading to over $2M in investment capital.

In 2006, Doug transitioned into business development and meeting services with Swisscom. Doug spent three years developing relationships with potential clients and coordinating meetings between various parties.

In 2009, Doug joined the NY Tech Alliance as Business Development/Marketing - Meeting Services. Doug helped connect technology companies with each other to create opportunities for collaboration and growth. In this role, Doug also coordinated events and meetings between members, provided support to the organization's Board of Directors, and managed the organization's website and social media presence.

In their current role as Acting Executive Director of the New York Technology Council, Doug is responsible for leading the organization's strategic planning process, overseeing its day-to-day operations, and executing its initiatives to promote the growth of the technology industry in New York State.

Doug Binette attended Boston University and obtained a BS in Business/Hotel & Food Administration.
