Sinead Leahy is an accomplished Principal Scientist and Principal Science Advisor at the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre, where Sinead has been contributing since October 2020, also serving as Acting Deputy Director. Previously, Sinead held the position of International Capability and Training Coordinator (Secondment) at the same organization from January 2017 to June 2020, and worked as a Senior Scientist at AgResearch Ltd from April 2006 to June 2020. Sinead's research focuses on enhancing agricultural productivity while minimizing greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in the context of ruminant animals, which play a crucial role in the food chain. Sinead holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbial Genomics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, both from University College Cork.

Established in 2009, our head office is located in Palmerston North, New Zealand, on the AgResearch Grasslands campus. We are a core component of the Centre for Climate Action on Agricultural Emissions, and proud to work with AgriZeroNZ, government, Māori, researchers and farmers and other stakeholders and partners across the agri-industry.
