Mike Newman

Mike Newman serves as the Director of Technology at Newark Central Schools since March 2021, leading the IT department to align technology with the district's strategic goals. Prior experience includes roles such as EdTech Associate at PLC Associates, Inc., and Technology Coordinator at Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES, where Mike demonstrated educational leadership and strategic planning in instructional technology. Previous positions also include Technology Coordinator at Vertus Charter High School and Remote Learning Coordinator at Hillside Family of Agencies, focusing on online initiatives and access for students. Mike holds a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership and Administration from the State University of New York at Oswego, a Master’s in Instructional Technology from Georgia Southern University, and a Bachelor’s in Broadcast Communications from Barry University.
