Bob Dolgan has had a diverse range of work experiences over the years. Bob is currently the Director of Communications at the Newberry Library, a position they have held since June 2023. Before that, Bob was the Founder of Turnstone Strategies, a storytelling firm that focused on creating memorable and impactful content for organizations. Bob founded the firm in December 2018. Prior to that, they served as the Communications Director for Advance Illinois, where they led communications and marketing efforts for an education policy and advocacy organization. Bob also held various roles at the Greater Chicago Food Depository, including Vice President of Statewide Partnerships and Vice President of Communications. Bob was responsible for managing campaigns and budgets, as well as overseeing marketing and communications strategies. Earlier in their career, Bob worked as a Freelance Writer for Chicago Wilderness Magazine, a Public Relations Specialist at Anixter Center, and a Staff Writer/Copy Editor at the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
Bob Dolgan obtained their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Marketing Management from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, studying from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor's degree (BA) in Anthropology and History from Kenyon College, completing their studies from 1994 to 1998. In addition to their formal education, Bob Dolgan has also obtained a certification in Final Cut Pro X Professional from LearnQuest in April 2023.
