Mlis Ernestina Saenz

Ernestina Saenz, MLIS, has served as a Cataloging Project Librarian at the Newberry Library since July 2019, where responsibilities include both copy and original cataloging of diverse materials, including rare books and non-book materials. Previous roles at the Newberry Library involved mentorships focused on cataloging rare materials and working as a Collection Services Assistant. Prior experience includes a Patron Services Associate position at Hinsdale Public Library, providing administrative support, and multiple roles at the University of Illinois at Chicago, including graduate assistantships that involved instructing patrons and handling archival materials. Ernestina holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Illinois Chicago, complemented by an Associate of Arts from Morton College.
