Eric Battig

Eric Battig is a seasoned geophysicist with extensive experience in the mining and exploration industries. Currently serving as Principal Geophysicist at Newmont Corporation since November 2023, Eric also holds the position of President at the Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists since April 2022, where leadership responsibilities include co-chairing the Australasian Exploration Geoscience Conference. Prior to this, Eric was the Principal Geophysicist and President at Newcrest Mining, managing global geophysics activities from July 2020 to October 2023. Eric's career also includes significant roles at BHP, Barrick Gold Corporation, and GRS Chile Ltd, where accomplishments span innovative geophysical methodologies, team leadership, and expansion into new markets. Eric earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Geophysics with First Class Honours from The University of Queensland.
