Brad Ricks has a diverse work experience in the media industry. Brad started their career as a reporter for The Morning Bulletin in 1999 and later worked as a writer for Australia's Mining Monthly at Aspermont from 2002 to 2004. From 2004 to 2005, Ricks served as a senior reporter for the Community Newspaper Group before joining APN as the Chief-of-Staff of the Tweed Newspaper Company from 2005 to 2007. Brad continued working at APN as the Editor of the Tweed Newspaper Company from 2007 to 2010. Ricks then joined The Community Newspaper Group as the Weekend Courier and Kwinana Courier Editor from 2010 to 2011. Brad moved to News Corp Australia in 2011 and held various positions at the Gold Coast Bulletin and The Courier Mail/The Sunday Mail Weekend Sports Editor, Quest Community News Deputy Editor, and Gold Coast Bulletin Sports Editor from 2011 to 2022. Ricks served as the Deputy Editor of the Gold Coast Bulletin from 2022 to 2023 before becoming the Head of Content, Gold Coast at News Corp Australia in 2023.

Brad Ricks holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism, professional communications, and literature from Central Queensland University.
