Shelley Deluca

Shelley DeLuca has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Shelley started their career at Crane Hill Publishers in 1998, where they served as the Editorial Director/Managing Editor. During their tenure, they handled project management for regional trade book publishing and also worked on developing and managing titles for the custom publishing division.

After leaving Crane Hill Publishers in 2001, DeLuca joined Southern Progress Corporation, where they held various roles. Shelley began as a Senior Copy Editor and then moved on to become the Copy Chief of Custom Publishing. In this role, they oversaw the flow of content, managed copy desk, and freelancers, and handled diverse subject areas such as home improvement, gardening, foods, and regional culture/history. Later, they became the Managing Editor of Custom Publishing, responsible for the timely flow of all print and web content through the editorial processes.

In 2009, Deluca started working freelance. During this time, they took up roles such as Editor, Writer, and Copy Editor. Shelley gained experience in proofreading, web quality assurance, proofreading books and maps, and writing how-to video scripts.

In 2009, Deluca also joined Luckie & Company, where they held roles such as Proofreader, Digital Content Strategist, and Senior Content Strategist. Their responsibilities included content strategy, proofreading, and overseeing digital content.

Most recently, DeLuca worked at NewsBank as the Marketing Product Content Manager before being promoted to the Director of Marketing, Media Services.

Shelley DeLuca attended Western Michigan University from 1985 to 1987, but did not earn a degree or specialize in any field of study. Shelley then transferred to Michigan State University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Journalism from 1987 to 1989.
