Maria Martineau leads partnership development and engagement efforts for NewSchools’ External Affairs team. She has nearly two decades of experience supporting educational institutions as well as non-governmental organizations and is passionate about building meaningful partnerships. She has served in a variety of capacities across complex organizations and is skilled in major/principal gift fundraising, non-profit leadership, higher education, advancement communications, corporate partnerships, school reform, workforce development, K-12 education, and community engagement.
Most recently, Maria served as the Director of Development for the George Washington University Law School, supporting the strategic growth of the school as well as the development of new institutes and programs. Prior to that, Maria oversaw institutional advancement strategy and development operations for KID Museum, a Washington D.C. non-profit dedicated to empowering the next generation with the skills to invent the future. Previously, Maria partnered with the Dean of the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut, leading fundraising and alumni engagement efforts for the school.
