Jim Herndon

Jim Herndon is a Vice President in the Strategy & Planning group within Nexant’s Utility Services business practice. He is based out of Nexant’s Cary, NC office. Jim currently focuses on strategic demand side management (DSM) planning and program design for a range of natural gas and electric utility clients throughout the country. Since joining Nexant in 2002, Jim’s experience has included all facets of the DSM program lifecycle, from portfolio planning, such as technical potential and market characterization studies, development and cost-effectiveness analysis of DSM program portfolios, and regulatory support of program filings and Integrated Resource Plans (IRPs); to turnkey design and implementation of DSM program offerings across the residential, commercial, and industrial sectors; to conducting 3rd party evaluation of program offerings. Jim’s recent project work includes managing an energy efficiency potential study of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s service territory; providing regulatory and technical DSM planning support for Georgia Power Company’s 2016 Integrated Resource Plan; and managing Nexant’s DSM program design and regulatory support services for Columbia Gas of Virginia.​
