James Peters

Head of Product, Data Network at NexHealth

James Peters is currently the Head of Product, Data Network at NexHealth. Prior to this, they were a Senior Lead Product Manager at Redfin from July 2017 to July 2022. James was part of a small team that shipped cloud attachments to all of their service customers and drove new attachment well design which added photo thumbnails, save to cloud, and multiple download options. James also led the cross-team effort to get cloud attachments shipped as part of their on prem Exchange product. In addition, they on-boarded their PM team onto the new visualization tools that had been acquired and drove how they integrated that into their design process. Lastly, they led a team on a one-week Hackathon to integrate their Outlook Mobile experience with their Office mobile experience in iOS, which eventually got shipped in their mobile offering.

Before Redfin, James worked at Microsoft from June 2011 to July 2017 as a Program Manager II. At Microsoft, they were responsible for the new user photos experience for Outlook Web, from upload to distribution. This was a very high scale problem with large performance implications. James also shared people card control in Office 365 between Exchange and SharePoint, as well as working on people UX features (Hover card, persona control, me card, contact hub). James was also part of the Planning for Groups, a high growth area for O365. As a Dogfood champion for their team, they focused on driving use of all of their features through the team to ensure a high quality of product shipped. Lastly, they led a team of interns over the summer to build AI into email by auto recognizing entities in email using the Bing graph API and giving more info about that item, also connecting it to an action broker to provide built in functionality like "purchase ticket."

James Peters has a BS in Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
