Matija Kostelac has a diverse work experience starting in 2007 as a Call Center Agent at PBZ. In 2010, they joined Intesa Sanpaolo Card as an IT Service Specialist, where they worked until 2017. Following that, they worked at Mercury Processing Services International as an IT Service Specialist from 2017 to 2020. Matija then joined Nets Group in 2020, initially as an IT Service Manager until 2021 and later as a Customer Experience Manager until 2022. Currently, Matija is employed by Nexi Group as the Head of End to End Customer Journey, starting in July 2022.

Matija Kostelac completed their education with a Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences in Zagreb. Matija pursued this degree from 2001 to 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering from I. tehnička škola Tesla from 1997 to 2001, with a specialization in Computer and Information Sciences, General.

Aside from their formal education, Matija Kostelac has also obtained several certifications. In 2011, they obtained the ITIL V3 Foundation certification from EXIN. In 2013, they acquired the ITIL Service Operation certification, also from EXIN. Most recently, in March 2023, Matija Kostelac completed a certification course on Leading Others from the Leadership Pipeline Institute.
