Taneli Valtonen

Taneli Valtonen has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries and roles.

Starting in 2000 at Yomi, Taneli worked as a Project Manager, initially as a developer before transitioning to project management tasks. Taneli then moved to Nokia in 2002 and held various positions, including Senior Design Engineer, Project Manager, Senior Manager in Portfolio Management, Senior Manager in Portfolio Investment Planning, and System Integration Manager. During their time at Nokia, they gained experience in project management, team leadership, subcontractor management, stability testing, and development processes.

In 2014, Taneli joined Microsoft as a Senior Project Manager and was responsible for leading local and global teams in the Global Stability area. Taneli focused on test asset definition, development, and execution.

In 2015, Taneli joined GE Healthcare as a Systems Engineering Manager. In this role, they led a team of experts and worked as a subject matter expert on medical product development processes. Taneli also gained experience in people management and the medical industry standards and processes.

In 2019, Taneli joined Varjo as a Senior Project Manager, where they led various projects in computer vision and was closely involved in software development processes and tools.

In 2021, Taneli joined Nets Group as an Engineering Manager, where they led a team and later became the Director of Engineering in 2022.

Taneli's most recent position is as the Engineering Director at Nexi Group, which they started in 2023.

Taneli Valtonen completed a B.Sc in Information Technology, with a focus on programming, from Jyväskylä Polytechnic. This degree was earned between 1997 and 2000. Additionally, they hold certifications as a Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc., obtained in November 2021, and as a Certified Scrum Product Owner from Scrum Alliance, obtained in February 2013.
