Kenny Hopper

Kenny Hopper has a diverse work experience history. Kenny currently holds the role of Design Systems Lead at Nextdoor since June 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Coinbase as a Senior Manager of Design Systems from July 2021 to June 2023. Kenny also served as a Design Leadership Forum Member at InVision from January 2020 to June 2023, where they contributed to advancing the practice of design leadership by fostering a community of top professionals.

Before that, they worked at Upwork as the Director of Product Design, Design Systems from February 2019 to July 2021, and also as the Head of Visual Experience, Product from September 2015 to July 2021. Additionally, Kenny held leadership positions at Elance-oDesk as the Principal Visual Design Manager from January 2014 to April 2015.

Kenny's earlier work experience includes serving as the Senior Interactive Art Director at McKinsey & Company (LUNAR Design) from October 2009 to 2015. Kenny managed various projects and maintained relationships with vendors. Kenny also worked as a Product Designer UX/UI at Cull from December 2010 to December 2011, where they collaborated on branding and user interface design for an online streaming platform.

Furthermore, Kenny has taken on teaching roles such as being a Design Course Instructor at LUNAR + Academy of Art University from September to December 2010.

Lastly, they worked as a Freelance Experience Designer at Razorfish in July 2010, contributing to research and brainstorming workshops to inform UI design decisions. Kenny also served as an Interactive Art Director at LUNAR Design from September 2009 to 2010.

Kenny Hopper has a strong educational background, with degrees from both the California College of the Arts and The University of Texas at Austin. From 2007 to 2010, they attended the California College of the Arts and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Industrial and Product Design. Prior to that, from 1995 to 1999, they studied at The University of Texas at Austin. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a major in Liberal Studies.
