Global Product Line Purchasing, And Mechanical Commodity Strategies Director at Nexteer Automotive

Thomas Selby has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Thomas began their career at Zenith Data Systems as a supervisor. Thomas then worked at ICG Castings for almost a decade, serving as the Vice President of Quality Assurance and overseeing customer relations, quality management, and production operations. Selby later joined Busche CNC as a quality supervisor for a brief period.

In 2010, Selby joined Dana Holding Corporation as a Cost Engineer, where they focused on benchmark analysis and identifying savings opportunities. Thomas also served as a Buyer, generating savings projects and managing commodities. Selby's expertise in cost engineering involved evaluating cost drivers and creating cost models. Thomas also worked on material cost optimization by identifying waste and negotiating shared savings opportunities with suppliers.

Since 2014, Selby has been working at Nexteer Automotive, starting as a Global Value Enhancement Manager. In this role, they drove value into products and services through cost analysis and facilitated VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) events. Thomas then progressed to Senior Global Value Enhancement Manager, where they mentored and coached other managers. Currently, Selby holds the position of Global Product Line Purchasing and Mechanical Commodity Strategies Director at Nexteer Automotive.

Thomas Selby attended IIT from 2003 to 2005 where they studied business. Prior to that, from 1984 to 1986, they attended ITT and earned an associate's degree in electronic engineering.
