Vice President Of Product Management at Nexthink

Ian Aitchison has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Starting in 1995, they worked as a Support Center Manager at Touchpaper, providing management and support to the team. Ian then transitioned to the role of Best Practice Manager, where they provided deployment guidance and support to the services team and coached deployment partners. Ian later became a Product Manager at Touchpaper, contributing to the company's turnaround and eventual acquisition.

In 2007, Ian was promoted to the position of Worldwide Presales Director, leading a global team in presenting and demonstrating corporate solutions. Ian played a crucial role in engaging with strategic clients and contributing to the business's success.

In 2008, Ian joined Avocent as Director of Presales for EMEA North. Ian held this role until 2010 when they moved to LANDESK Software. At LANDESK, Ian initially served as the EMEA Technical Director before transitioning to the role of ITSM & ITAM Product Director. In this position, they led the company's entry and growth into the ITSM market and managed senior product leadership, staff, pricing, strategy, and more.

Ian's most recent roles include Senior Director of Product Management at Ivanti, where they led the ESM/ITXM product portfolio and a team of Product Managers across multiple timezones and geographies. Ian was responsible for vision, strategy, execution, and growth, including the launch of new products and expansion into new markets.

Currently, Ian is serving as the Vice President of Product Management at Nexthink, a position they started in April 2021.

In between their roles at Ivanti and Nexthink, Ian enjoyed a short period of decompression working as a freelancer and pro bono advisor, author, blogger, podcaster, and industry advisor at Aitchison Insights. Ian also spent quality time with their family during the lockdown.

Ian Aitchison attended the University of Brighton from 1987 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Computer Studies. Prior to their university education, they also attended Reigate 6th Form College and Reigate Grammar School, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for these institutions.
