Ken Parker began their career in 1983 as a Senior Group Engineer and Principal Investigator at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, where they developed software for Martin Marietta Aerospace in Denver, CO. Ken then moved to JP Morgan in 1993, where they served as VP-Development and led the creation of the JPM Analytics Library. In 1998, Ken co-founded RiskMetrics Group and served in various leadership roles, including head of development, technical operations, and head of HR. Ken also founded the Norman, OK office, which grew from 3 to 150. In 2010, RiskMetrics was acquired by MSCI/Barra, and Ken left to launch an education technology startup, NextThought, LLC, where they served as Co-Founder and CEO from 2011.
Ken Parker received their Bachelor's Degree in Math/Computer Science from Oklahoma Christian University between 1980 and 1983. Ken then went on to receive their Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder between 1990 and 1994.
