Marc Leushacke, PhD

Principal Scientist at NextVivo

Marc Leushacke, PhD has work experience in various scientific research roles. From 2021 to the present, they are employed as a Principal Scientist at NextVivo. Previously, they worked at the A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research from 2011 to 2021. During this time, they held multiple positions, including Principal Investigator at the Skin Research Institute of Singapore and the Institute of Medical Biology. Marc'sresearch focused on studying molecular mechanisms of tissue regeneration and disease using in vivo animal models and in vitro organoid models. From 2017 to 2019, they served as a Project Leader at the Institute of Medical Biology. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the group of Prof. Nick Barker, where they made significant discoveries in epithelial stem cell biology. Marc Leushacke completed their PhD in Molecular Cell Biology in 2011, investigating cellular mechanisms involved in intestinal tissue homeostasis and colon cancer progression at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics.

Marc Leushacke earned their Master's degree in Molecular Biology from Heidelberg University, attending from 2000 to 2005. Marc then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy, specializing in Molecular Biology, at the Max Planck Society from 2005 to 2011.
