Po-Yu (Steve) Lin, Ph.D

Scientist at NextVivo

Po-Yu (Steve) Lin, Ph.D has a diverse work experience spanning various research roles. Po-Yu (Steve) is currently working as a Scientist at NextVivo since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Stanford University School of Medicine where they held the positions of Postdoctoral Researcher from December 2019 to October 2021 and Research Associate from January 2017 to January 2020.

Before joining Stanford, Po-Yu worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science from July 2013 to September 2019. During this time, they worked under the guidance of James Dunn, M.D., Ph.D.

Between 2010 and 2013, Po-Yu worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at UCLA, where they contributed to the design and development of hyperelastic thin film nitinol. Po-Yu (Steve) assisted in finite element modeling for designing nitinol films with attributes such as high elongation capacity without permanent deformation. Po-Yu (Steve) also played a role in the development of a neurovascular device for intracranial aneurysm treatment, incorporating the hyperelastic thin film nitinol as a covering for a neurovascular stent.

Earlier in their career, Po-Yu worked as a Research Assistant at the Bioinformatic and Statistical Core Lab. Here, they worked on projects such as constructing a Methylation Database and web-based analyzing tool. This tool allowed users to upload array data for methylation analysis and provided real-time chromosome views of the whole genome for examining methylation status. The results of this project were published in the Journal of Computational Biology.

Overall, Po-Yu (Steve) Lin, Ph.D has demonstrated a strong research background with expertise in areas such as biomedical engineering, materials science, and computational biology.

Po-Yu (Steve) Lin, Ph.D has an extensive education history in the field of Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering. Po-Yu (Steve) first attended UCLA from 2009 to 2013, where they earned their Master's degree. Following this, Po-Yu (Steve) Lin pursued further education at UCLA from 2013 to 2019, completing their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering.
