Candice Ooi

Candice Ooi has a diverse and extensive work experience. Most recently, they served as the Head of Operations at Nfinite Nanotechnology, where they successfully facilitated pilot contracts and grew the team. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Database Geologist at New Found Gold Corp, where they led a team and optimized the database architecture, resulting in significant cost savings. Candice also co-founded Scoby Studio and held positions at TMAC Resources Inc, De Beers Canada Inc, Women in Mining University of Toronto Student Chapter, and the University of Toronto. Candice has experience in geology, database administration, teaching, and research.

Candice Ooi's education history begins with their completion of an MBA Essentials program at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management in 2021. Prior to that, they obtained an Honors Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, specializing in Geology, and minoring in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). This degree was earned between 2014 and 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Candice Ooi has acquired various certifications. These include completing a course on Spatial Data Science offered by Esri in December 2020, a Machine Learning course from Stanford University via Coursera in July 2020, and a course on Integrated Strategic Planning for the Mining Industry offered by Whittle Consulting in May 2020. Candice has also obtained certifications from LinkedIn, MathWorks, the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), Seequent, and IBM, all related to data science, programming, and mining exploration. These certifications were earned between 2018 and 2020.

Candice Ooi has also acquired the designation of "Geologist in Training" from Professional Geoscientists Ontario in September 2018. Lastly, they obtained a certification in First Aid CPR and AED from St Johns Ambulance in February 2019.
