Charlie Simmons

Charlie Simmons has over 10 years of experience in data engineering and business intelligence. Charlie is currently working as a Lead Data Engineer at NFU Mutual, where they head the data engineering team and manages BAU requests and a large-scale migration project. Earlier, they worked as a Managing Director at SQL Dynamics and as a Senior Data Engineer at Provident Financial Group and Downing LLP. Charlie has also worked with organizations such as DVLA, RSG, Powys County Council, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, Creditsafe, and Powys County Council in various data-related roles. Charlie has expertise in technologies like Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and Power BI.

Charlie Simmons obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics with Planetary & Space Physics from Aberystwyth University from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they attended Llandrindod High School from 2003 to 2010. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including "M20464 Developing Microsoft SQL Server Databases" and "M20466 Implementing Data Models and Reports with Microsoft SQL Server" from Microsoft, as well as a Professional Development Award Level 4 from City & Guilds in 2014.
