Ivo Havranek has extensive work experience in various scientific and research roles. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Scientist at the NIBIO Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the NMBU - Norwegian University of Life Sciences from May 2019 to October 2021. Ivo also served as an Avdelingsingeniør (Department Engineer) at the NIBIO Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research from May 2018 to April 2019.
Before their academic career, Ivo worked as a Ballroom Dance Teacher at Studentsamskipnaden i Oslo og Akershus (SiO) from August 2013 to December 2017. Ivo also completed their PhD at the NIBIO Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research from March 2013 to March 2016.
Additionally, Ivo participated in a joint research project on biological waste processing at AGRO-EKO from September 2012 to January 2016 as part of the GESHER/MOST program, which involved collaboration between Czech Republic and Israel. Ivo also worked as an Environmental Consultant at E-expert Ostrava from May 2012 to February 2013.
Furthermore, they have experience as an Organizational Team Member at Eutis o.p.s. from June 2011 to November 2012. Ivo also conducted research on the ecotoxicity of biowaste fermentate applied to agricultural areas at AGRO-EKO from July 2011 to March 2012.
Before pursuing their academic career, Ivo worked as a Quality Control Laboratory Technician at Aqualia Infraestructuras Engineering. In this role, they analyzed samples of drinking water, surface water, and adjusted surface water using various chemical, biological, and microbial methods from June 2008 to October 2008.
Ivo Havranek's education history includes a range of academic achievements and certifications. Ivo began their educational journey in 2006 at VSB - Technical University of Ostrava, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Environmental biotechnology in 2009. In the same year, they pursued further education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), earning an Msc. in industrial ecology and ecotoxicology in 2010.
Continuing their academic pursuit, Ivo enrolled in VSB - Technical University of Ostrava again in 2009 and completed their Master's degree in Mineral biotechnology in 2012. Ivo then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the same university, specializing in the field of Ecotoxicity of biowaste from 2012 to 2017.
In 2016, Ivo attended Volda University College (HVO) and obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration in 2017. Following this, they enrolled at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB) in 2018 and completed the Praktisk pedagogisk utdanning (PPU) program in 2019.
Outside of their academic endeavors, Ivo also obtained certifications in various areas. In May 2018, they achieved the Trener 2 (sportdans) certification from Norges Danseforbund. Additionally, in January 2017, they became a National judge for dancesport in Norway, also through Norges Danseforbund.
