Zahra Bitarafan has extensive work experience in various research and academic roles. Zahra is currently working as a Researcher at the NIBIO Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research since May 2022. Prior to this, they were a Post Doctoral Researcher at the same institute from June 2020 to April 2022. Before joining NIBIO, Zahra worked as an Academic Employee at the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences, University of Copenhagen in April 2020. Zahra also served as a Research Assistant at the university from April 2017 to April 2020 and as a Visiting Researcher from March 2016 to March 2017.
Zahra has also gained experience as a Visiting PhD Student at the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran (ABRII) from March 2014 to March 2016. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Seed and Plant Improvement Institute from September 2011 to September 2012, and as a Visiting MSc student at the same institute from September 2010 to September 2011. Zahra's earliest work experience was as an Intern at the IAEO-Iran Agricultural Engineering Organization from September 2008 to September 2009.
Zahra Bitarafan began their education in 2003 at Islamic Azad University, Science And Research Branch, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Plant Protection in 2007. Zahra then pursued a Bachelor's degree in English Language Teaching at Islamic Azad University from 2007 to 2011. Following this, they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Agronomy at Islamic Azad University, Science And Research Branch from 2009 to 2011. Continuing their academic journey, Zahra went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Agronomy from Shahrood University of Technology, where they studied from 2012 to 2018.
