Sharmilan Somasundaram

Sharmilan Somasundaram has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Sharmilan is currently the Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of NIFTRON since February 2020. Prior to this, they held the position of Visiting Lecturer & Research Project Supervisor at the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT Campus) starting from September 2018. Sharmilan also worked as a Visiting Lecturer at ICBT Campus starting from September 2019.

From February 2019 to August 2020, Sharmilan worked at 99X Technology, initially as a Software Engineer from March 2018 to January 2019, and later as a Senior Software Engineer. During the same time period, they also served as the Blockchain Lead at Tracified from March 2018 to August 2020.

Before joining 99X Technology and Tracified, Sharmilan worked at Inova IT Systems as a Software Engineer from July 2016 to February 2018. Sharmilan started their career as a Trainee Software Engineer at Inova IT Systems (Pvt.) Ltd. from August 2014 to July 2015.

Sharmilan Somasundaram completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Big Data Analytics from Robert Gordon University from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Westminster, where they studied from 2012 to 2016. In addition to their formal education, Sharmilan also holds certifications as a Corda Certified Developer from R3, obtained in April 2020, and as a BTA Certified Blockchain Solution Architect from the Blockchain Training Alliance, obtained in February 2019.
