Kevin Davies has extensive work experience in the field of engineering, specializing in renewable energy and power systems. Kevin is currently a Senior Engineering Consultant at WATTMORE, where they provide expert advice and guidance on engineering projects. Prior to this, they founded Renewable Edge LLC, where they served as the senior engineer and played a key role in the company's initiatives.

From 2014 to 2022, Kevin worked at the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute as an Assistant Researcher. During this time, their research focused on grid integration of variable renewable energy and distributed energy resources. Kevin led the development of a high-resolution distribution transformer power monitor system and was involved in various projects related to grid controls, solar and load forecasting, and real-time simulation.

Before joining the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute, Kevin worked as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2007 to 2013. Kevin'sPhD research involved equation-based, object-oriented modeling of systems, with a specific focus on fuel cells. Kevin gained expertise in the Modelica modeling language and applied thermodynamics during this time.

Kevin's career started at the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute in 2005, where they served as an Assistant Specialist. Kevin conducted studies and modeling related to energy/power systems for unmanned underwater vehicles, particularly exploring the optimization of fuel cell systems.

Prior to their roles in the renewable energy sector, Kevin gained valuable experience at prominent automotive companies. Kevin worked as a Product Development Engineer at Ford Motor Company from 2001 to 2005, focusing on developing and improving automotive products. Kevin also had a role as a Vehicle Engineering Intern at Daimler Chrysler in 2000, where they contributed to the development of energy-saving features for the HVAC system of an electric vehicle.

Throughout their career, Kevin has demonstrated expertise in engineering, research, modeling, and analysis. Kevin has a strong background in renewable energy, power systems, and applied thermodynamics, and has contributed to several significant projects and publications.

Kevin Davies holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they obtained in 2014. Before that, they earned an M.S. in Engineering from Purdue University in 2004. In 2001, Davies completed their undergraduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University, where they received a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Prior to attending college, from 1995 to 1997, they attended the Central Shenandoah Valley Regional Governor's School.
