Phillip Whiteley

Phillip Whiteley has extensive experience in product management and delivery, working with various companies in different industries. Phillip began their career as a Product Owner at Flashtalking, where they played a key role in prioritizing future developments and launching Creative Manager to multiple international locations.

Following their time at Flashtalking, Whiteley joined Walmart eCommerce as a Senior Product Manager, where they were responsible for migrating Asda's online grocery legacy product information management system. Phillip worked closely with users, other product managers, and Scrum teams to drive product development and resolve issues.

Whiteley then moved on to Hermes, where they held the positions of Programme Product Delivery Lead and Delivery Lead for the API stream of the Hermes "Digital Futures" program. Phillip later took on a program-level product delivery role for their new website and mobile application offerings.

After their time at Hermes, Whiteley joined Shop Direct as a Product Delivery Lead, leading the technology stream in the development of a web-based credit facilitation platform. Phillip aligned business and customer needs with technical costs and delivery roadmaps.

Whiteley then worked as a Lead Product Management Delivery Consultant and Pre-engagement Team Product Manager at Equal Experts. In these roles, they advised prospective clients on product management delivery techniques, conducted onsite workshops, and provided guidance on product management approaches.

Phillip then became the Head of Product at Greensill, where they established the company's first dedicated department for Technical Product Delivery. Whiteley was responsible for providing trade finance solutions and making finance fairer for organizations.

In 2021, Whiteley founded Nebuula and served as the Head of Product Delivery. The company specialized in helping organizations deliver digital products efficiently, leveraging industry expertise and cross-functional teams.

Whiteley also worked as a Principal Product Consultant at Nord Anglia Education, where they utilized their product management skills to enhance educational offerings.

Currently, they are working as a Product Management Consultant at THE PRODUCT THINKTANK LIMITED, utilizing their expertise to provide consultancy services in product management.

Phillip Whiteley has a diverse education background. In 2000 to 2003, they attended Sheffield Hallam University where they obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Computing (Software Engineering). After that, in 2004, they received a Certificate for Internal ISO9000 QMS Auditor, specializing in ISO9000 Quality Management System.

Phillip furthered their education in 2007, attending APM Group Ltd to acquire a degree in PRINCE2, specializing in Project Management. The following year, in 2008, they studied at the Chartered Insurance Institute and earned a degree in CF1, focusing on UK financial services, regulation, and ethics.

In 2009 to 2011, Phillip enrolled at BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, where they obtained an ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis, specializing in Business Analysis. Lastly, in 2016, they attended Scrum Alliance to pursue a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) degree, focusing on Agile Scrum Product Ownership.
