Nimbus has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional Clinical Immunology Lead to join our team. This individual will serve as the medical immunology leader for our molecules in the immunology portfolio. In this capacity, the Clinical Immunology Lead will help define the scientific rationale and clinical tractability of our immunology pipeline molecules and define their development paths in multiple autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Working closely with the discovery group and translational medicine team, this person will define the clinical development plans and medical strategy of our immunology assets.  In addition, the Clinical Immunology lead will drive first in human studies and activities as well as proof of concept studies. This person may serve as the project leader for one of the immunology asset and will report to our Chief Medical Officer.

In This Role You Will:

  • Provide strategic leadership, therapeutic expertise, and execution for Nimbus’ early Immunology portfolio
  • Integrate scientific rationale, regulatory requirements, product development plan and commercials goals to build the Clinical Development Plan
  • Develop approaches to demonstrate early activity and therapeutic promise through use of biomarker strategy in collaboration with Translational Medicine team & internal Immunology subject matter expertise
  • Oversee the development of clinical activities across drug development studies within the immunology therapeutic area in collaboration with the clinical development teams
  • Provide medical and scientific input into and/or lead key deliverables (INDs, CSRs, safety documents, publications, etc.)
  • Identify and review new clinical and scientific research opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of strategic initiatives, specific Business Development activities, and various organizational initiatives in Clinical Development
  • Support leadership, including CMO, in building a cross-functional team in immunology and early development
  • Be an active member of the development leadership team, the development operation team and governance teams
 
 

These Qualifications Will Help This Role Be Successful:

  • MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent degree preferably in Immunology or similar health discipline
  • 8+ years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or equivalent; substantial understanding of Immunology therapeutic area required
  • Demonstrated track record executing on First-in-human/Phase 1 & Phase 2 trials
  • Understanding of scientific methods and tools used in early clinical development including, biomarkers, translational modeling, and relevant clinical trial landscape
  • Experience with site engagement, handling responses from health authorities, IRBs, ethic committees and investigator sites
  • Strong experience and understanding running clinical studies with substantial collaboration with other clinical development functions including clinical operations, regulatory, data management, safety/PV and program leadership
  • Broad understanding of biopharmaceutical drug development, including working knowledge of relevant ICH and GCP guidelines and regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills required with demonstrated success in leading projects and interacting with cross functional teams
  • Ability to navigate, problem-solve, execute, and lead in a dynamic, fast-paced and evolving environment leveraging an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong experience working cross-functionally with internal and external collaborators
