YenChe (gigi) Huang has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering. YenChe (gigi) started their career in 2013 as a volunteer in the mechanical subteam of Hybrid Electric Vehicle Team of Virginia Tech (HEVT), where they inspected and developed solutions for leaking issues and assisted in engine test stand construction. In 2014, they became an official member of the Electric Power-train Subteam in the Formula Society of Automotive (FSAE). Their responsibilities included prototyping motor mounts, designing battery modules, and researching battery types for track racing applications.
In 2015, YenChe worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Xing Mobility, Inc. YenChe (gigi) designed and tested liquid cooling systems for batteries, motors, and power electronics. YenChe (gigi) also implemented manufacturing designs and developed test beds for battery cell performance.
YenChe later co-founded and served as a co-founder & engineer at the C1 - Electric All Terrain Tracked Vehicle Project in 2016, where they integrated battery modules, constructed the chassis, and developed steering analysis for the tracked vehicle.
In 2018, YenChe worked as a Mechanical Engineer at XING Mobility and as a Co-Founder at Rovilus, Inc. At XING Mobility, they were involved in mechanical engineering tasks, while at Rovilus, Inc., they converted go-karts into electric-powered vehicles, designed battery cooling systems, and conducted battery testing.
YenChe's most recent position is as a Supply chain and mechanical engineer at Nimbus Group, starting in 2021. YenChe (gigi) coordinates the supply chain for prototype builds and develops battery packs that meet automotive testing standards.
In 2023, YenChe will take on a new role as a Lead Project Engineer at Olympian Motors (YC-22).
YenChe (Gigi) Huang studied at Virginia Tech, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Mechanical Engineering. The exact duration of their studies, including the start and end years, is not specified.
