Amrita Bhaumik

Amrita Bhaumik is a dedicated researcher currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research since November 2025. Prior to this role, Amrita completed a Doctoral Researcher position at the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research from October 2021 to September 2025. Additional experience includes a Guest Researcher role at DTU - Technical University of Denmark in mid-2022, as well as various positions at CSIR - National Institute of Oceanography, including Project Associate, Master's Thesis Project, and Summer Internship between 2018 and 2021. Amrita holds a PhD from the University of Bremen (2021-2025), a Master's degree in Marine Biology and Oceanography from Annamalai University (2017-2019), and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Fish and Fisheries from the University of Calcutta (2014-2017). Amrita completed secondary and higher secondary education at Aligunj Rishi Rajnarayan Balika Vidyalaya.
