Daan van Loon

Daan van Loon is an experienced Information Specialist and Librarian at NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research since November 2020. Daan is also a co-founder of Iona Taalbureau, an independent language consultancy established by two linguists. Daan has held various academic and advisory roles, including Policy Advisor for the Social Domain at Gemeente Texel and University Lecturer in Old Irish along with several project management and educational specialist roles at Utrecht University. Teaching experience in Classical Languages includes positions at Insula College, Marnix Gymnasium, and KSG de Breul. Daan's educational background features a Research Master of Arts in Medieval Studies, specializing in Celtic, and a Bachelor of Arts in Celtic Studies, both obtained from Utrecht University. Additionally, Daan represented students as Chair of the Faculty Council in Humanities at Utrecht University and has experience as a storyteller with Dá Fhili.
