Charlene Hew has worked in a variety of roles in the design industry since 2017. In 2018, they worked as a Visual Designer at Samsung Electronics, designing graphics, illustrations, icons, and user interfaces for Samsung Knox B2B products. Charlene also worked as a Graphic Designer at SFU's Coast Capital Savings Venture Connection, designing branding, website, and print materials for a 10 year anniversary celebration event. In 2017, Charlene worked as a UX & Interaction Designer at PolicyStat, where they overhauled a legacy policy management web app into a modern, mobile-friendly app. In 2019, they worked as a Lead UX Designer at Niphtio, building a new app from the ground up and wearing different hats including research, UI design, marketing, and UX. Charlene also worked as a Web Designer at Maxilite Manufacturing Ltd., redesigning their website to support e-commerce, improve usability, and refresh the look and feel. Finally, they worked as a UX Mobile App Designer at Wikoda, Inc., redesigning user flow and visual design for an upcoming release of the Wikoda Sunflower app.

Charlene Hew attended Simon Fraser University from 2013 to 2019, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Interactive Arts and Technology in the field of Design and Interactive Systems. In 2019, they also participated in an Exchange Program at Universidad de las Américas Puebla, where they studied Design.
