Luis Vanegas

Luis Vanegas has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Luis started their career as a Junior Full Stack Developer at Freelancer.com in 2014 before moving on to MagSystems as a Senior Full Stack Developer in 2015. At MagSystems, Luis led development teams and successfully implemented the agile Scrum methodology.

In 2017, Luis worked as an Independent Consultant, where they took on roles such as a DevOps Developer and a QA Automation Analyst. As a DevOps Developer, they implemented CI/CD pipelines, managed Git Flows with GitLab, and implemented AWS cloud solutions with Docker. During their time as a QA Automation Analyst, Luis successfully implemented various automation strategies and optimized test times.

In 2019, Luis joined Choucair Testing S.A. as a QA Automation Engineer, working with clients like Banistmo and Bancolombia. At Bancolombia, Luis implemented innovative solutions for testing APIs, resulting in significant improvements in test times. Luis relied on agile methodologies and a DevOps culture to streamline the testing process.

Most recently, Luis has been working at Nisum since 2021 as a Senior QA Automation Engineer. In their role at Banco de Chile, they reduced testing time through automated tests and led the development team. Luis also managed numerous datasets for testing purposes.

Luis Vanegas began their education in 2013 at the Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) where they pursued a degree as a Technologist in Analysis and Development of Information Systems. Luis completed this degree in 2016. In the same year, Luis went on to attend the Universidad de Antioquia where they are currently studying to become a Systems Engineer.

In addition to their formal education, Luis has obtained several certifications. In August 2013, they received a certification in Servicio al Cliente from the Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA). Subsequently, in March 2018, Luis obtained a certification in Programación Java from the Politénico de Colombia. Furthermore, in August 2018, they received a certification in Bases de Datos y Sistemas de Gestión from the SENA. Additionally, Luis has obtained various certifications from the Udemy Academy. In January 2019, they obtained a certification in Javascript, followed by Angular in March 2019, and AWS Cloud Formation in November 2019. Most recently, in August 2020, Luis acquired the DevOps Essentials Professional Certificate (DEPC) from CertiProf, as well as the EF SET Certificate B1 Intermediate from the EF Standard English Test (EF SET) institution.
