James Abela

James Abela has a long history of involvement in the ICT sector. James began their career in 2005 as an IT System Administrator and Motor Claims Handler at Central Insurance Brokers Ltd. In 2008, they moved to The General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd. (Coca-Cola Malta) as an ICT Project Administrator, and in 2009 they were promoted to Junior Programmer at the same company. In 2010, they became a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Malta. In 2011, they co-founded ICE Malta (Institute of Computer Education) and took on the role of Business Development Director, and in 2014 they co-founded TheStudentCampus and developed a SaaS cloud-based platform offering a unique combination of a Learning Management System (LMS), a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and an eLearning solution.

James Abela obtained a Bachelor's Degree in B.Sc. I.T. (Hons), Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Malta between 2006 and 2010. James also obtained an Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute from the Chartered Insurance Institute - London between 2005 and 2009. Prior to that, they attended De La Salle Sixth Form between 2004 and 2005, studying Advanced Level Mathematics and Computing.
