Abbey True Harris

Director, Legal Affairs & Complex Litigation at NJ Pure

Ms. Harris currently serves as the Director of Legal Affairs and Complex Litigation for NJ PURE.

Ms. Harris began her legal career as a law clerk to the New Jersey Supreme Court in the chambers of the Honorable Virginia A. Long. Following her clerkship, she entered private practice with a large national law firm, working on a variety of litigation, appellate, healthcare and regulatory matters. After nearly a decade representing, among other clients, health care providers and insurers, Ms. Harris joined NJ PURE in 2015.

At NJ PURE, Ms. Harris utilizes her legal training and experience to supervise a number of legal, regulatory and legislative initiatives to benefit medical providers and insurers. She works directly with our in-house legal defense firm and outside defense attorneys on complex litigation issues that arise during malpractice trials, and spearheads legal efforts before the Appellate Division and Supreme Court. Ms. Harris also serves as the liaison to outside counsel for litigation efforts on behalf of NJ PURE.

Active in her local and charitable community, Ms. Harris was appointed by the Supreme Court to serve on its Committee on Women in the Courts, has sat on a number of non-profit charitable boards in New Jersey, and was elected to serve on her local school board.
