Steffen Novotny

Steffen Novotny is an accomplished professional in the field of optics and physics, currently serving as the Fiber Sales and Applications Manager at nLIGHT since January 2015, where responsibilities include sales of specialty optical fibers and providing applications support to global customers. Previously, Steffen held the role of Sales and Application Engineer, focusing on consultative sales and technical customer support in the laser industry across Europe and Asia. Academic experience includes postdoctoral research in fiber optics at Aalto University, atomic physics at the University of Turku, and molecular physics at the Max-Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics, with a comprehensive background in project planning and execution, research coordination, and teaching. Steffen holds a PhD in experimental molecular physics from Heidelberg University and a diploma in physics from the University of Heidelberg, with additional studies as an exchange student at Louisiana State University.
