Leyla Hathwaik

Project Lead-Protein Engineering at Nobell Foods

Leyla Hathwaik has worked in the field of molecular biology since 2007. Leyla began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Nevada, Reno. In 2015, they joined the USDA as a Research Molecular Biologist, where they isolated soil beneficial bacteria and developed biodegradable matrix formulations to encapsulate soil beneficial bacteria as a substitute to synthetic fertilizers. In 2019, they joined Nobell Foods as a Project Lead-Protein Engineering and Scientist, Molecular Biologist.

Leyla Hathwaik completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno between 2007 and 2012. During this time, they also earned a Minor in Psychology from the same university.
