Fernando Varela

Fernando Varela is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in structural engineering and mechanical engineering. Currently serving as the Head of Structural Engineering and Group Leader for Concrete & Hybrid Tower Structural Engineering at Nordex Group since January 2021, Varela has demonstrated leadership in innovative engineering solutions. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Specialist and Research Assistant at the University of A Coruña, where responsibilities included managing the Construction Laboratory at the Centro de Innovación Tecnolóxica de Edificación e Enxeñería Civil from June 2014 to December 2023. Varela holds a degree in Ingeniero Técnico Superior de Caminos, Canales y Puertos from Universidade da Coruña, earned between 2008 and 2015.
