Christopher Wright has extensive experience in the field of environmental sustainability and risk management. Christopher has held various roles in both the public and private sectors, focusing on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) issues.
At the International Energy Agency (IEA), Christopher served as a Member of the Financial Institutions Advisory Board starting in 2023.
Prior to their position at the IEA, Christopher worked at Norges Bank Investment Management. Christopher held multiple roles at the company, including Head of ESG Risk Monitoring since September 2020. Christopher was also the Sustainability Manager for Real Estate from December 2015 to September 2020, and a Senior Analyst in Real Estate Asset Management from August 2014 to December 2015. Additionally, Christopher worked as a Senior Analyst in Climate Change/Environment and Ownership Policies from May 2011 to August 2014.
Christopher was involved in various committees and advisory boards related to ESG. Christopher served as the Chair of the ESG Committee at INREV from January 2019 to December 2021. Christopher was also a Member of the Sustainability Committee at INREV from January 2018 to January 2019. Furthermore, Christopher was an Advisory Board Member at GRESB from February 2015 to December 2020.
Additionally, Christopher had research experience at the University of Oslo as a Senior Researcher in the Center for Environment and Development from August 2009 to April 2011. Their research focused on international political economy and environmental issues, specifically looking at international standards and practices for environmental risk management in project finance and export finance.
Early in their career, Christopher worked as a part-time strategy consultant and freelance writer from March 2001 to April 2011. Christopher also had research fellowships at the London School of Economics from October 2007 to October 2009 and at the G8 Research Group- LSE/Oxford from October 2007 to October 2008. Christopher worked as a Consultant at the African Development Bank from 2008 to 2009 and as a Consultant at the World Resources Institute from June 2002 to June 2005.
Christopher Wright obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Politics from Macalester College, where they studied from 1995 to 1999. Christopher then pursued a Master of Science degree in Environmental Policy and Economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2001 to 2002. Following this, they attended Columbia | SIPA from 2002 to 2003, where they earned a Master of International Affairs degree with a focus on International Affairs and Environmental Policy Studies. Christopher furthered their education by completing a PhD in International Relations at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2003 to 2009.
