Jon Egil Strand has a diverse work experience. Jon Egil started their career as a Systems Developer at Sintef Applied Mathematics in 2000. In 2002, they completed a summer internship at Sintef Technology Management. In 2003, they had an internship as a Venture Capitalist at Marenghi Company in Boston and also started their own high-tech start-up called Smarthaus, where they worked as an Entrepreneur until 2005. Jon Egil then joined Mercer as a Consultant until 2009. From 2009 to 2011, they worked at Norges Bank Investment Management in Risk Management. Jon Egil later transitioned to Allocation Strategies and then to Asset Strategies, where they currently work. Additionally, Jon Egil Strand has served as a Board Member for Vålerenga Fotball since 2014 and for Vålerenga Kultur og Idrettspark since 2016.
Jon Egil Strand attended the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 1997 to 2003, where they obtained their MSC degree in Industrial Economics. In 2003, they also attended Boston University for a brief period to study Gründerskolen/Norwegian School of Entrepreneurship. Later, in 2006, they pursued post-graduate studies in Statistics at the University of Oslo (UiO).
