Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager at Norges Bank Investment Management

Nikolai Sie's work experience begins in 2009 when they helped in the administration of a summer camp and taught sailing skills. In 2012, they worked as a Summer Worker at Norli Antique Book Store, where they arranged and categorized the collection of antiquarian books and helped the store run profitably. Nikolai also served as an Administrative Assistant in the Royal Norwegian Navy, overseeing logistics for a guard troop and ensuring administrative and logistic needs were met for 56 soldiers. In 2014, they worked as a Student Worker at both Darley Dining and Semester At Sea / ISE. In 2015, they worked as a Promoter at Face2Face, selling credit cards at Oslo Airport. Nikolai also served as a Student Assistant at Alferd Packer Grill. In 2016, they worked as a Business Development Intern at EchoStar Corporation, conducting research on the global satellite industry. In 2017, they interned as an Equity Research Intern at DNB Markets, contributing to published coverage of Yara and Kongsberg. Nikolai joined Norges Bank Investment Management in 2018 as part of the Investment Talent Program and later became an Analyst and Equity Trader. Currently, they hold the position of Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager at Norges Bank Investment Management.

Nikolai Sie's education history begins in 2009 when they enrolled in Ullern VGS, where they pursued a College/University Preparatory and Advanced High School/Secondary Diploma Program. In 2010, they took part in an exchange year at Sparkman High School.

After completing high school, Nikolai attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 2013 to 2018. During this time, they obtained both a B.S. and a B.A. degree, majoring in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Math, and Computer Science.

In 2013, Nikolai also took individual courses in Military Strategic Studies, General at the Royal Norwegian Military Academy and Economics at Nord University. Nikolai further expanded their knowledge by participating in a study abroad program called Semester at Sea in 2014, and taking a mathematics course at New York University.

Nikolai's education journey also includes several certifications. In 2012, they obtained Advanced First Aid certification from Forsvaret - Norwegian Armed Forces, followed by Aquatic First Aid certification from Tomm Murstad Sjoleir in 2009. In 2013, Nikolai obtained Bloomberg Essentials, Equity, Fixed Income, Forex, and Commodities certification from Bloomberg LP, and Winter Operations certification from Forsvaret - Norwegian Armed Forces.
