Olav Solem Sauar has an extensive work experience in various roles and positions. Olav started working at Chase Manhattan Bank in 1997 as a Financial Accounting employee. After that, they joined SEB in 1998 as a Controller and later became the Head of Risk Control. In 2007, Olav joined NBIM as the Middle Office Manager. Olav then progressed to become the Senior Analyst at the Derivatives Desk and eventually the Head of Control and Reporting in Investment Administration. Overall, Olav Solem Sauar has gained a strong background in finance and risk management throughout their career.

Olav Solem Sauar started their education at Notodden Videregående skole from 1987 to 1990, where they completed their Upper Secondary Education. Olav then attended BI Norwegian Business School from 1990 to 1993 and obtained their Bachelor's degree in Economics. Following that, they enrolled at the University of Oslo (UiO) from 1993 to 1994, focusing on Mathematics. Finally, they attended the Norwegian School of Management from 1994 to 1996, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Finance.
