Rune Steinsmo Ødegård

Rune Steinsmo Ødegård has a diverse work experience in the field of information security risk. Rune Steinsmo started their career at NTNU as a Doctoral Researcher, conducting research on hash functions and cryptanalysis. Rune Steinsmo then joined mnemonic as a GRC Consultant, where they worked on various topics including risk assessment, ISMS, audit, key management, identity and access management, and security metrics. During their time at mnemonic, they led the development of a security metrics program for a large investment bank. Currently, they are working as the Head of Information Security Risk at Norges Bank Investment Management, where they previously served as the Lead Security Risk Manager and the Interim Head of Information Security Risk.

Rune Steinsmo Ødegård pursued their education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). From 2000 to 2006, they completed their Master's degree in Industrial Mathematics. Following this, from 2007 to 2012, Rune undertook their doctoral studies at the same institution, ultimately earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Cryptography.
