Yazid Sharaiha

Global Head Of Systematic Strategies at Norges Bank Investment Management

Yazid Sharaiha has over 30 years of work experience in the finance and academic sectors. Yazid started their career at Imperial College London in 1991 as a University Lecturer in Information Management, where they worked until 1997. Yazid then joined Morgan Stanley as a Managing Director and Global Head of Quantitative & Derivative Strategies, where they stayed until 2011. In 2012, Yazid joined Norges Bank Investment Management as the Global Head of Systematic Strategies, a position they currently hold.

Yazid Sharaiha has a strong educational background in finance, operations research, management science, and engineering. Yazid obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Engineering from Imperial College London in 1986. Yazid then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley from 1986 to 1987. This was followed by a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Management Science at Imperial College London from 1987 to 1988. Continuing their academic journey, Sharaiha obtained a PhD in Operations Research from Imperial College London from 1988 to 1991. Yazid later served as an Adjunct Associate Professor in Finance at Imperial College Business School from 2014 to 2017.
