Ben Toscher has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Ben is currently the Miljø- og bærekraftsansvarlig / Head of Sustainability at Norgeshus since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Miljørådgiver / Environmental Adviser at Trondheim kommune from March 2021 to February 2022.
Ben also has research experience as a PHD Researcher at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) where they delivered their dissertation in February 2021 and defended their PhD in June 2021.
Ben has also worked as a Climate and Energy Consultant at Climate and Energy Consulting and EcoShift Consulting, LLC from 2013 to 2017, utilizing scientific literature and analytical methods to answer research questions.
Before that, Ben was self-employed as a Poet from 2011 to 2017 and also worked as a Project Manager at Energy and Technical Services Limited for a short period in 2016.
In addition to their work, Ben has a background in renewable energy, having completed an MSc in Renewable Energy at University of Jyväskylä in 2011. Ben also had a brief experience at Triodos Bank as part of the Ampere Equity Fund in 2010. Ben also showed entrepreneurial and exploratory skills during their self-employed period, being involved in various technology concepts and ventures.
Ben Toscher attended the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2017 to 2021, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2008, they studied at the Texas McCombs School of Business and obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus on Finance. In 2009, they attended the University of Jyväskylä and completed a Master of Science degree in Business and Economics, specializing in Renewable Energy and Corporate Environmental Management. In 2003, Ben briefly studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the University of Oxford.
