Johan Berg

Johan Berg is an experienced executive in the metals and production industry, currently serving as Vice President and Head of Primary Production Norway for Norsk Hydro since February 2024. Previously, Johan held the position of Chief Operations Officer at Qatalum from August 2021 to February 2024. Johan's tenure at Norsk Hydro includes roles as Plant Manager and Vice President for Projects & Maintenance in Primary Metal from September 2015 to August 2021. Prior to this, a significant part of Johan's career was spent at Alcoa, where Johan was Director of Maintenance, Reliability & Capital Center of Excellence, as well as Director of Carbothermic Technology and Global Strategy. Other roles include Plant Manager at Alcoa Mosjøen Anode Plant and Operations Manager at Elkem Iceland. Johan began a career in engineering at Elkem Canada and has an educational background that includes an EMBA from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business and an MSc in Metallurgy from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
