Ted Lomond has a diverse work experience spanning several sectors. Ted is currently the President & CEO of North Atlantic since June 2022. Prior to this, they served the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador in various positions such as Deputy Minister in different departments including Municipal and Provincial Affairs, Industry, Energy & Technology, Natural Resources, Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation, and Business, Tourism, Culture and Rural Development. Before their government role, they worked as the Executive Director of the Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Industry Association and the Newfoundland and Labrador Regional Economic Development Association. Ted also gained experience as a Project Manager at Memorial University of Newfoundland and as a Principal at Prestige Business Consulting Services. Ted started their career in the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador as an Executive Director in the Department of Industry, Trade and Rural Development and the Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat. Prior to that, they held various positions including Special Projects Manager, Production Manager, and Consultation Planner in different government departments. Ted also worked as an Executive Assistant to a Member of Parliament in the Government of Canada and as a Legislative Assistant to Ministers of Health and Finance in the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Ted Lomond has a diverse educational background with a focus on interdisciplinary subjects, business administration, project management, and various specialized courses. Ted holds a Graduate Diploma in Arts with a concentration in Geography and Technology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Ted also obtained a Master's Degree in Philosophy in Humanities with a specialization in Innovation from the same university.

Ted further pursued their education at Heriot-Watt University, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on General Business. Additionally, they obtained a Master's Certificate in Project Management from York University.

Ted pursued a Human Resource Management: HR for People Managers Specialization course from the University of Minnesota via Coursera. Furthermore, they gained expertise in International Business through an International Business Specialization course from the University of Colorado Boulder via Coursera.

Additionally, they completed the Policy for Science, Technology and Innovation course from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MITx Course). Ted expanded their knowledge of Political Economy through the From Poverty to Prosperity: Understanding Economic Development course from the University of Oxford (OxfordX Course). Ted also studied Indigenous Canada through an online course offered by the University of Alberta via Coursera. Moreover, they explored Aboriginal Worldviews and Education in a course from the University of Toronto via Coursera.

In the field of arts and design, Ted pursued the Modern and Contemporary Art and Design Specialization course offered by the Museum of Modern Art through Coursera.

Ted further enhanced their expertise in economic development through a Regional Economic Development Course at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Ted also completed The Business of Mining course from Curtin University, specializing in Business Administration and Management.
