Melissa Hassard is an experienced organizer currently serving as the Lead Organizer for the North Carolina Association since August 2021. Previously, Melissa held the position of Regional Member Organizer at the North Carolina Association of Educators from August 2020 to August 2021, and served as a Canvass Captain for Ballot Cure with the Democratic Party of Georgia in late 2020. Additional roles include Deep Canvasser Training Lead at Down Home North Carolina and Partner and Managing Editor at Sable Books, where responsibilities encompassed grant-writing, publishing, marketing, sales, negotiations, contract-writing, and client liaison. Melissa received certification in Spanish-English Translation from UMass Boston in 2021 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Public Relations from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1991.
